Aluminium Gutter Replacement

Super seamless aluminium gutter replacement project in Stalybridge, Cheshire

The cast-iron gutters at this property had been causing the client problems for years, almost every joint was leaking and causing serious damp issues in areas of the house.

This being a large Victorian house, constructed from traditional materials typical of the West Pennine area, it was important that the replacement gutter was not only functional but was a good visual match for the existing look of the building.

Rainmen Seamless Aluminium Gutters come in the traditional 5-inch ogee profile, which is a great match for the shape of wooden gutters which are a characteristic of the area, for many cast iron designs, and for this house in particular.

But of course, the main advantage of seamless aluminium gutters is that they are made to measure on site: each side of the building has a gutter cut to fit its precise measurements, so there are no joints in the running length, and the leakage problem that occurred with the cast iron gutters will not be repeated.

Plus, Rainmen Seamless Aluminium Gutters come ready factory-coated, so there is no need for painting.

Then there were the fascias beneath the gutters: they were unsightly due to peeling paint. However, the wood itself was still in good condition, so we were able to install 2mm-thick aluminium fascia covers, polyester powder coated in RAL 9005, a precise colour match for the gutters, and again, there is no need for painting.

Existing rainwater pipes were reconnected where their condition made this viable. Elsewhere, new downpipes were installed in the same matching colour.

The client was delighted with the job, the finish and the overall look of the project.
